Based on the ratio of Dictyocha to Distephanus, rough estimates of paleotemperatures are given for the Neogene at Site 278, and for the Late Eocene of sites 277, 280, 281, and 283. A local silicoflagellate zonal scheme is proposed and correlated to other zonal schemes.
