The samples were collected from the depths of 950-720 m during different expeditions of the R/V Akademik Kurchatov and Mikhail Lomonosov. Mantle ultrabasite inclusions were first recognized in the region of Iceland. It can be assumed that they are related to eruptive structures formed on the ocean floor during the Pliocene and are associated with the Iceland "hot" spot.</gco:CharacterString>
<status><MD_ProgressCode codeList="http://www.isotc211.org/2005/resources/Codelist/gmxCodelists.xml#MD_ProgressCode" codeListValue="http://www.isotc211.org/2005/resources/Codelist/gmxCodelists.xml#MD_ProgressCode_completed">completed</MD_ProgressCode></status><descriptiveKeywords><MD_Keywords><keyword><gco:CharacterString>Oceanography</gco:CharacterString></keyword><keyword><gco:CharacterString>Igneous and metamorphic petrology</gco:CharacterString></keyword><keyword><gco:CharacterString>Atlantic Ocean</gco:CharacterString></keyword><keyword><gco:CharacterString>Cenozoic</gco:CharacterString></keyword><keyword><gco:CharacterString>chemical composition</gco:CharacterString></keyword><keyword><gco:CharacterString>Deep Sea Drilling Project</gco:CharacterString></keyword><keyword><gco:CharacterString>Europe</gco:CharacterString></keyword><keyword><gco:CharacterString>hot spots</gco:CharacterString></keyword><keyword><gco:CharacterString>Iceland</gco:CharacterString></keyword><keyword><gco:CharacterString>igneous rocks</gco:CharacterString></keyword><keyword><gco:CharacterString>inclusions</gco:CharacterString></keyword><keyword><gco:CharacterString>lava</gco:CharacterString></keyword><keyword><gco:CharacterString>mantle</gco:CharacterString></keyword><keyword><gco:CharacterString>marine geology</gco:CharacterString></keyword><keyword><gco:CharacterString>mineral composition</gco:CharacterString></keyword><keyword><gco:CharacterString>Neogene</gco:CharacterString></keyword><keyword><gco:CharacterString>North Atlantic</gco:CharacterString></keyword><keyword><gco:CharacterString>ocean floors</gco:CharacterString></keyword><keyword><gco:CharacterString>petrography</gco:CharacterString></keyword><keyword><gco:CharacterString>plate tectonics</gco:CharacterString></keyword><keyword><gco:CharacterString>Pliocene</gco:CharacterString></keyword><keyword><gco:CharacterString>pyroclastics</gco:CharacterString></keyword><keyword><gco:CharacterString>research vessels</gco:CharacterString></keyword><keyword><gco:CharacterString>Reykjanes Ridge</gco:CharacterString></keyword><keyword><gco:CharacterString>samples</gco:CharacterString></keyword><keyword><gco:CharacterString>shelf-slope break</gco:CharacterString></keyword><keyword><gco:CharacterString>Tertiary</gco:CharacterString></keyword><keyword><gco:CharacterString>tuff</gco:CharacterString></keyword><keyword><gco:CharacterString>volcanic rocks</gco:CharacterString></keyword><keyword><gco:CharacterString>Western Europe</gco:CharacterString></keyword></MD_Keywords></descriptiveKeywords><language><gco:CharacterString>English</gco:CharacterString></language><topicCategory><MD_TopicCategoryCode>geoscientificInformation</MD_TopicCategoryCode></topicCategory><extent><EX_Extent><geographicElement><EX_GeographicBoundingBox><westBoundLongitude><gco:Decimal>-24.3000</gco:Decimal></westBoundLongitude><eastBoundLongitude><gco:Decimal>-24.0000</gco:Decimal></eastBoundLongitude><southBoundLatitude><gco:Decimal>63.0000</gco:Decimal></southBoundLatitude><northBoundLatitude><gco:Decimal>63.3000</gco:Decimal></northBoundLatitude></EX_GeographicBoundingBox></geographicElement></EX_Extent></extent></MD_DataIdentification></identificationInfo></MD_Metadata>
