The buryellid taxa of DSDP Site 208 and ODP Site 1121 are documented and discussed, and a biostratigraphic problem associated with South Pacific radiolarian Zone RP5 is addressed and rectified. Additionally three new species of Buryella are described (B. helenae, B. petrushevskayae, and B. tridica), and the family Artostrobiidae, genus Buryella, and species B. foremanae are emended.
