These biozones span the Early/Late Campanian boundary interval (Sissingh, 1977). The upper part of the Gregory Member has been compared to two coeval samples from the Gulf of Mexico (DSDP Hole 538A) in order to attempt a palaeoecological analysis. The similarities in nannofossil richness and nannofloral composition indicate that there was open communication between the two sites.
